Stari Most (Old Bridge)
The Old Bridge over the Neretva is Mostar's landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The old town with its bazaar and cafés surrounds it.
Mostar sits on the Neretva, and the Stari Most arches over the river. The Old Bridge and the quarter around it are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Close by, the dervish house of Blagaj stands at the source of the Buna, the old town of Počitelj climbs a hillside downriver, and near Ljubuški the Kravica waterfalls drop into a green pool.
Many places sit right by the water: on the Neretva near Mostar and on the Buna around Blagaj, plus a few near Međugorje. Summers in the valley get hot, so shade or a way into the river makes a real difference.
